Biophilia ISTD
Intimate Immensity

Typography / Photography / Book Design

ISTD BM (26).JPG

In this typographic book design on biophilia, Nature becomes Type and Type becomes Nature. This project aims to explore the five natural intimate spaces described in Gaston Bachelard’s book The Poetics of space. Finding nature in typography lead me to look for glyphs that represent the intimate space from Bachelard’s writing. To reproduce specific typefaces with natural elements but also to apply type directly onto nature with the help of Letraset dry-transfer lettering. By creating hybrids, I intend to blur the barrier between typography and nature, and find connection in order to have a bio-typogra-phillic experience.
